BTS‘ upcoming showcase at the 2026 FIFA World Cup is the most highly anticipated of all the performances on the tournament’s lineup, according to the results of a Billboard poll.
As of the poll closing on Monday (June 15), readers voted for the Bangtan Boys more than 8 million times in response to a prompt asking who they were most excited to see. Coming in second was LISA, who commanded about 43% of the responses with more than 6.5 million, compared to BTS’ 54%.
Both K-pop acts dominated the survey, but Shakira, Anitta, Katy Perry, Madonna and more were also contenders.
The 2026 World Cup kicked off on Thursday (July 11), with the opening matches and festivities taking place jointly in the United States, Canada and Mexico. As far as the first-day ceremonies, Perry, LISA and Future performed in the U.S., Alanis Morissette and Michael Bublé sang in the Great White North, and Shakira and Burna Boy took the stage in Mexico City.
BTS’ World Cup outing won’t come until the final game on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., with the septet confirmed to perform at a first-of-its-kind Super Bowl-esque halftime show alongside Madonna and Shakira in a lineup curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin. And if the results of Billboard‘s poll are any indication, it’s sure to be the most exciting part of all the entertainment offerings FIFA has put together in 2026.
