An animated visual arrived hours after the single was released on Friday (June 5), which pulls various scenes from the Toy Story franchise. The clip is exclusively available on Spotify and Apple Music as of press time.

Swift wrote “I Knew It, I Knew You” from Jessie’s perspective in the movie, so it’s only fitting she’s the star of the visual. Jessie recalls the heartwarming memories with Woody and rekindles her romance with Buzz Lightyear, as they go on plenty of adventures alongside the gang.

The Toy Story 5 soundtrack will arrive in full when the movie hits theaters on June 19. Swift penned a poignant note on social media about the creative process for “I Knew It, I Knew You” and how it took her back to the days of being a Toy Story kid.

“Writing this song felt like a musical departure and coming home at the same time. Creating something for Jessie was a new challenge and also felt like second nature all at once,” she wrote. “And being a @toystory kid from the age of 5 til now… is an adventure I plan to be on, to infinity and beyond.”

Swift continued: “Thank you to the brilliant Andrew Stanton for imagining me for this, all those years ago when you wrote this newest film. Thank you to the incomparable @RandyNewman for the gorgeous sonic tapestry of songs and scores you’ve meticulously woven over the years. You created the Toy Story musical world, and we are lucky to get to live in it.”

“I Knew It, I Knew You” marked a return to working with frequent collaborator Jack Antonoff on the production side once again.

“By we, I mean myself and my pal @jackantonoff We wrote this with so much adoration for these characters that made us laugh and helped us learn lessons and think outside the backyard all throughout our childhoods,” she added. “‘I Knew It, I Knew You’ from Toy Story 5 is out everywhere now.”

Swift’s involvement in Toy Story 5 was kept under wraps until last week when the track was announced. TS5 director Andrew Stanton gushed about having the Grammy-winning artist’s involvement in the film.

“It’s incredible just how meaningful it’s been having Taylor write and perform this song,” he said in a statement. “Her connection to Jessie and the immediate way she understood what the character was going through was undeniable,” he added. “The song is so deeply connected to Toy Story. So much so that on first listen, it instantly felt like it had always belonged there, like a long-lost family member.”

Tom Hanks and Tim Allen reprise their voice roles as Woody and Buzz Lightyear, while Joan Cusack helms Jessie. Times have changed, as Toy Story 5 finds the squad of older toys dealing with technology innovations and tablets that have stolen kids’ hearts. The movie hits theaters on June 19.
